Ron Adams, Clerk of Court, Superior and Magistrate Courts, is seeking to fill several slots in newly created User Groups in the practice areas of real estate, civil, and criminal.

He states, “The idea is to bring the various parties to the process together to see what can be improved.  I anticipate several meetings of an hour or less at which various matters are discussed and proposed solutions are offered.  I do not have a specific set of matters that I think need addressing.  I am trying to provide a vehicle for collaboration between the parties the Clerk’s office touches.”

The Board of Directors requests your input on nominations for these groups. If you are interested, please reply to info@glynncountybar.org with the subject line “User Group – [Real Estate, Civil, Criminal].”

We look forward to your participation.

UPDATE: Our own Sam Choate did some investigation and determined the 28 hours of training offered is not sufficient to qualify one to mediate generally.  In addition to the 28 hours they offer here, another 12 hours is required. In addition, if one wishes to mediate in domestic relations cases, an additional 42 hours of training is required.

We still think it's wonderful that you can get at least 28 hours of training right here in Glynn County, but we wanted members to be aware of the above.

    Exciting News!

Kennesaw State University's School of Conflict Management is bringing mediation training to Jekyll Island  in June!  This is a chance to get tons of CLE and mediation training without going to Atlanta.

The General Civil Mediation class has been approved for 28 hours of CLE, including 1 ethics and 1 professionalism. This is sold AT COST, in addition to the registration fee. That means $5/per regular credit and $15 for the professionalism credit.

The Domestic Violence Issues in Mediation Class is approved for 14 hours of CLE including 1 ethics and 1 professionalism (also sold at cost, not included in registration fee since each attorney may seek a different number of credits).

    REGISTRATION DEADLINE: MAY 5, 2017
